Beautiful summer morning! As I put my coffee down on our breakfast bar to go open some doors and windows, my kitchen caught my eye. We remodeled our kitchen a few years ago and I still love it! It’s not a magazine kitchen, it’s usable, functioning and practical. It has “us” written all over it, which came from doing most of the work ourselves. I began thinking how much I like my house and felt a heartwarming gratitude to God for blessing me with the things I have. Yes there are things I’d like to change but it’s a great house for our family. It’s homey, warm, lived in, comfortable and clean. (As clean as it gets with 5 people and 2 dogs living here!) Some live better, many don’t. I try to live with a grateful heart but sometimes living gets in the way. When my eyes are clear to see the many blessings I have (more than just material things) I make sure to give credit where it’s due. Thank you to my big God who loves and cares about little me!! What has He blessed you with today?
I’ve been intrigued by the afterlife for many years – even reading memoirs and watching youtube videos about near death experiences and discovering that many accounts describe the afterlife just as the Bible does. As much as I can imagine what heaven might be like, I know I am far from any real understanding. All I can do is continue to live my life with a goal of spending forever with God in heaven. The following parable is an excellent explanation of my faith in God. It’s not so much about trying to figure it out ahead of time, but about believing.
