My favorite survey quote of the week:
In regards to her BC diagnosis and what she would have liked her support people to do or say, Helen said, “I can’t say that there could have been anything that would have helped me.”
This feedback hit me hard, because it is so true. The reality is that when we get the diagnosis there is nothing anyone can say or do to make it go away, to make it better, to promise everything will be OK. Although Lovey (any BC victim) may be surrounded by an army of warriors to support her, it really boils down to her having to fight the disease on her own. No one can take it away.
Does that mean the support team is useless? Absolutely not! It’s all the other things that we can do and say that will help ease her journey as much as possible. That’s exactly what my next project is about and why this feedback from my Bosom Buddies is so critical.
I love the input so far and can’t wait for more! Thanks to those who have taken the time to respond. More survey topics are underway!
